      Its called Connecting is Hard.

Its about people with big feelings getting their feelings hurt, so they build walls that protect them, but that makes making friends difficult. There also robots and monsters.

      Neon Genesis Avangelion

Spoiler alert: New Japan future end times with giant fighting fallen angels and a complex religiously fueled convoluted plot into destroying the world and needing a confused bitch boy teenager to pilot one and save the world.

Also he sees a boob of a hospitalized girl and jerks off to her. Turns out she was a teen clone of his moms DNA mixed with the soul of one of the Angels.

It’s one of the most known and highly regarded animes of the 1990’s and the very interpretative plot has amassed very long summaries and descriptions and re-watches etc from the anime crowds.

Yes, but my way is even easier and I’m just not to worried about spoiling a 30 year old anime for everyone who reads past “spoiler alert”

Huh? I don’t understand. Every Lemmy app should have spoiler-formatting. I would personally move to one that does if yours really doesn’t; Blorp, Thunder, Summit, Jerboa, etc. all have it…

If you like anime, then it’s worth the watch (it’s just a 26 episode season and a couple movies that did kind of some retellings) just so you’ve watched it and you’ll recognize and understand the million memes and references of it.

It’s a pretty good, but somewhat dated anime. After one watching though, you really will probably have to read a summary to understand and pick up on everything you just watched. Between the translation or dubs and all the other not so obvious things going on, there’s a lot of stuff in there that most people will not notice right away.

Depends on what you like. The main character Shinji gets a lot of flak from people calling him weak and wimpy, while that is the whole point of the series: him addressing his anxiety and social problems.

I liked it a lot, since the aesthetic design of the robots and the angels is right up my alley. I also like the way every one of the characters is broken and noone is a hero.

But be warned: from the normal watching of the series you will not understand the background story. The series is about interhuman mental problems and big robots fighting big aliens is the way this series addresses it. There is a lot of techno babble speak which doesnt make sense, so don’t try to understand it too much. Lean back and enjoy the big fights destroying cities and then seeing them later being rebuilt again. There is a lot of engineering porn in NGE and I enjoy it immensely.
