I fucking hate this implication. How evil to target mother’s who lost a newborn and paint them as the purpotrator instead of the victim, like, this is really an evil and vile perspective. It suits /b/ 15 years ago, but shame on all you lemmings for upvoting. I hope you experience the same existential heartbreak someday.
"No you see you’re doing it wrong, you’re meant to uncriticically broadcast the toxic views so that scrollers can’t tell if you support them or are doing it ironically. No I’m pretty sure it’s fine, there’s a jokey disclaimer in the sidebar, I’m sure noone will see their own worst side reflected and feel it reinforced. Aren’t we soooo funny. "
It’s not fair to assume posting something means endorsing it even outside of this community. Plenty of people will post a Trump tweet or similar with the intention of criticizing it. Or they post a clearly ironic meme. Or they are sharing a personal story and want advice. Or they are just sharing news about current events. A post is just meant to draw attention to something interesting unless a community has more specific rules.
Yeah to be honest I’m not so bothered by the post, I’m interested in a “know thy enemy” sort of way. I’m bothered by people getting mad with people clapping back at critical responses to the post. Like obviously people are critical of it, look at it FFS.
Cool so let’s call a spade a spade. Replying “you’re doing it wrong” to people naturally pissed at the existence of these fuck wits is daft. Wanting to critically engage with noxious ideas isn’t “fragile”. Pushing critics out of your safe space is.
No way, man. Without a return to the norm, this place loses its luster. It’s easy to lose yourself to the weird, if you don’t have the voice of reason. I call on the normal people to stay.
Listen dude we all know the stuff written in this posts is by barely human freaks. It’s shocking to all of us. It just doesn’t cause us to fly off the handle and wish death on yet-to-be-born babies.
It doesn’t cause most of us to fly off the handle*
As the person who has probably posted the second most in this community, I do so while recognizing that a neurodiverse crowd like lemmy needs that slice of ginger
What’s specifically asinine about it? Are you implying that bringing it up could’ve been better if it’d happened more often?
I have just made you aware that this is, however sad, a thing that happens and people can talk about it. While I too disagree with the opinion in the OP post, you’re very much advised to not try and moral police this sub, because cringe and weird takes would appear here on a regular basis and you’ll be quite frequently offended to the core if you take it all close to the heart.
Please don’t take it out on the strangers on the Internet.

I must ask you to read the community description, especially if you never read it before.
Lmao read the sidebar. You’re doing it wrong.

But the parent comment here is attacking lemmings, that’s where the “you’re doing it wrong” is coming from, not the, “this is awful” part.
Fucking block the comm if you’re too fragile to look at 4chan. It’s green text, these guys are out of their minds.

Do yourself a favor. You ought to block this sub, it’s clearly not for you.

I agree with your take, probably most people that have children do. But i hope you don’t wish this on anyone.
Yeah, this is bullshit. Most of these points are just made up.
The post title literally calls it a conspiracy. I read it as an implied criticism like most posts here are.
Just FYI, neonaticide is a thing. Childbirth is hard and traumatizing and sometimes it leads to mother not being able to take it anymore.
But, as another fellow lemmitor pointed out below, it indeed accounts for a small percentage of SIDS
I’m acutely aware. Bringing it up while acknowledging its profound rarity is asinine.
