    Slightly related, I frequently visit a large “Wilderness area” near where I live. It’s thousands of acres and I’ve been visiting my whole life, camping, hiking, hunting. In the last 5-10 years as more and more people get UTVs or “side by sides” it’s becoming more accessible to people who previously would’ve had to walk in or have a 4x4.

    The damage they’re doing is extremely visible. There’s a rock cliff/hillside lookout you previously had to climb, it’s only about a 30 degree incline after you cross a big ditch so it’s not a particularly difficult climb but now that everyone has off road vehicles they’ve started to just drive up to the top and it’s clearly destroying the rock, wearing a path.

    It’s infuriating I can visibly see the damage these vehicles are doing but everyone in them just sees it as a good wholesome time.

    Oh hey, many of these places have had once in a millennia fires that caused billions in damages.

    I’m sure bringing in vehicles built on the concept of causing multiple explosions per second is a fantastic idea.
