Miles Davis and other famous trumpeters were known for playing “hot jazz” and when you got a good lick they’d say you were “on fire.” This trumpeter is so obviously the best one there because he’s so hot his trumpet’s on fire, and he’s wearing shades indoors, it’s making the other auditioners uneasy for their chances of getting the part.
