I thought they were already privatized what with the “Airport Improvement Fee,” “Airport landing fee,” and “Air traveller security charge” that our local grass airstrip doesn’t have.
The thought of privatization makes me suspect what is already bad may out to be worse for consumers. Privatization only works where there is competition. I don’t see much competition at Fort McMurray International Airport, nor Abbotsford International Airport, among many others. .
Privatization does not improve these types of services.

Oh my god. So our “sovereign wealth fund” which is definitely named to steal a bit of the shine off the wildly successful Norwegian sovereign wealth fund, is actually the exact opposite of that fund. Where the Norwegian model used profits from nationalized industry to create an investment fund it could put towards the national interest, we are creating a fund where we sell off public assets to create a pool of money we can shovel into private interests.

You supported the firing of 40,000+ federal workers in a time of an already high unemployment rate and a weak economy? You supported them getting rid of the need for environmental reviews related to natural resource extraction so that O&G companies could take our stuff and maybe face a weak punishment in the future? Did you also support when Trump first attacked Iran and within hours he said “Canada will unconditionally support the US”? How about how he still won’t call the genocide in Gaza what it is?

I feel the same. If they didn’t sell the 407, then it would have been free pretty soon, and would have generated tremendous income. These sales are always short-sighted and never benefit Canadians in the long run.
