When I was a boy and walking to the bus stop in winter to get to school, I used to stomp on frozen puddles to break the skin of ice. They don’t freeze any more.
Where I’m from we have a major river flowing through the heart of our city and we turn it into a frozen ice rink every Winter. Works great until the windchill hits the minus forties or fifties, then it’s time to stay inside with a nice cup of hot tea
Depends on the island but most places will get over 25C in the summer on some days. In the winter the southern and high altitude parts get to 0 or maybe a few degrees into the negative. The north usually doesn’t go below 9C.
How’s life in New Zealand?
Getting colder by the day. I need my car heater for the drive to work.
May I ask, why do you live there? Family? Highly paid job? Have you considered moving to a more warmer part of the Earth?
Well, I was born here and I like it here. I’m using the heater because it’s late autumn and I leave the house at 6 AM. It’ll never get below freezing.
