It is what the community has decided as a whole that an upvote or a down vote means in the context of a conversation on the internet.v I was on Reddit for about 17 years pretty much since the beginning. And before that I was on dig and it’s always how it’s been used when it comes to the context of conversations.
It’s not supposesd to be agree/disagree, but thanks to a certain techbro who may or not be a robot, it is.
It was supposed to be “this does/not contribute something relevant to the conversation, and I may or not agree.”
