It’s understandable when it’s against boomers because intragenerationally the psychos manipulated the lead-brains into purging any leftist sentiments, but even they are the ideological descendants of gilded age perverts.

      • cognitihazard comment, most of the world boomers are victims of colonialism and lived the struggle through post colonial rebuild, the non-white boomers in the first world faced apartheid and segregation laws, when you say “boomers” don’t forgot you’re also mentioning poc boomers who were forced out public spaces, queer boomers who were forced to stay hidden and all of them are victims of lead poisoning. Don’t forget that.

Anti-boomerism is a great way to ease people into class politics.

If we can convince millennials and gen Z they’re ontologically proletariat and the boomers are the generation that got a massive lucky break and conspired to leave everyone younger than them holding the bag, that could be a contender against racism. And with zoomers, we can larp as rightoids for a bit and say “us zoomers literally saved the GOP and made conservatism the cultural hegemony again…and boomers STILL call us easily offended! What a bunch of ungrateful bastards! This is why I left the right!”

Again, this is a great start to a possible leftist pipeline. “Boomer” will be a dogwhistle for “bourgeoisie”.

I feel like with boomers it had a lot to do with them being the wealthiest generation in history. Wealthy boomers did a lot of class warfare against literally everyone else, and after it started impacting peoples lives significantly that’s when the anti-boomer stuff became common.

Which in a way kind of sucks because it ignored that there were plenty of poor boomers, and leftist boomers. It also distracted from the fact that it was a class issue, making it easy for it to just be co-opted by the right later into generational warfare.

No war but the class war stays true once again.
