Preliminary data from the German Association of the Automotive Industry (VDA) showed that about 726,000 people were employed in the sector in Germany in 2025, nearly 47,000 fewer than a year earlier and almost 107,000 fewer than in 2019.

    Doesn’t look like that to me. They lobby to keep combustion engines alive. The cars are expensive, boring and 90% are SUVs (just check volkswagen.de to see how many models they have in the SUV category, vs. small cars or other types). Features and entertainment systems look like they are 10 to 20 years behind compared to what you get from Chinese EVs for half the price.
