    I’m sorry but

spoilers for the movie the song is named after

Wonderwall is about a man who lives in an old bookstore with a brick wall falling apart. He can see into his neighborhood’s apartment, discovering they are a supermodel. So he decides to try and rape the woman. Upon getting into the apartment finds that she has attempted to kill herself and rescues her.

EDIT: To anyone who thinks I just associated something random, Wonderwall Music is the first solo album recorded by George Harrison which is the score for the movie Wonderwall.

Well that puts the song they keep playing to remember my dead mate, Paul, in a different light.

Now I have to remember that forever when they pour one out for the homies.

I’m probably in some weird minority of people who’s actually seen that movie but doesn’t know what the more famous song is. (I’ve heard of it, but I don’t know if I’ve ever actually heard it.)

The song is… fine. It was overplayed on the radio and has a horrible reputation among guitarists due to it being something anyone could learn to play in a couple of days. That’s where the “puts capo on the third fret” meme comes from.

Pretty much an entire generation grew up on insufferable teenage boys whipping out a guitar at parties and playing Wonderwall to try to get girls.
