As long as you can make a choice it is liberation. “Freedom is the capacity to make choices, oppression the inability to make choices”.

It’s basically diluting the politics from feminism and emphasizing choice over structural change. It sidesteps the fact that a liberty to make personal choices is in a privilege and needs structural change. That “choosing” to be a housewife is not a possible option for most people for example. As well that people who aren’t white nor/or cis nor/or straight do often miss access to the same infrastructure in order to get to the same place as their cis/straight/white counterparts.

I don’t know if I worded this well, but I tried my best.

I actually agree that one’s quality of freedom can be equated to the array of choice available to them. But it logically follows, quite obviously IMO, that in order to increase freedom for others you must help open up access to choices for them. If they don’t do that… Then what do they do?

I don’t know. Seems like this is just a way to lump people who are not feminist in with feminists. I would reject this term as propaganda.

They dislike RadFems like SWERFs (Sex Worker Radical Feminist) and TERFs (Trans Exclusionary Radical Feminist).

Ok, but the best feminists are radical feminist that are sex work and trans inclusive. I don’t like people lumping terfs with radical feminist. Terfs are neither radical nor feminist

While radfem is literally a portmanteau of radical feminist, it’s a colonized term that refers specifically to certain second wave tendencies that are notorious today for being exclusionary.

From a lot of the reading Ive done tonight to educate myself more about it, it seems like RadFem is a co-opted term similar to say how Libertarian was taken by right wingers.

Stuff like Anarcha-Feminism or even Marxist-Feminism would be the better ideologies.

too bad they have basically taken over and co-opted the term RadFem along with misandrists, you technically could still use it, but you’d get a few side eyes cus that is what most think of RadFems as…
