I don’t think this is an example of irony. They aren’t talking about it being good, merely stating the fact which we understand is sick. It’s like joking about cops being dog-shooting domestic abusers, the point is to normalize the idea that these forces are incredibly violent, not normalizing that such a thing being okay is an acceptable opinion. It’s a good thing to promote to counter the narratives about them being valiant or helpful.
