A bipartisan effort to overturn a major executive order issued by President Donald Trump just got the backing of two prominent Senate Republicans.

Last Thursday, the House of Representatives voted 232 to 194 to advance the Protect America’s Workforce Act, which would repeal Trump’s Executive Order 14251. That vote included 22 House Republicans who broke party lines to vote to repeal the president’s move to restrict union rights at federal agencies.

The effort then moved to the upper chamber of Congress and Republican Senators Lisa Murkowski of Alaska and Susan Collins of Maine have signed on, Fox News first reported.

The executive order from the president curbs union bargaining rights and protections, which negotiators say affect working conditions, pay talks and workers’ ability to address grievances. Proponents of the repeal argue these rights are essential for a fair and effective federal workforce, while opponents say that loosening restrictions undermines agency efficiency and national security.

Can’t. Say what you will about cops they understand the personal benefits of rabid solidarity and having every member of your union being an armed and violent thug.
