      Bolsheviks are one of the two successors to a split in the russian social democratic party. A party that existed in opposition to, among others, the socialist revolutionaries, a party that had previously assassinated a tsar and would later lead a revolutionary government.

        That is. Certainly one way to describe the Bolsheviks and the SRs. Lol.

        Lenin was right about the SRs then and he’s still right about the social democrats now.

        (Of course, the term “social democrat” basically meant in about 1905 what “communist” means now, and I do like to tell certain types of people I have to keep peace with, that I’m a social democrat, and just not explain that I mean that in the 1900s Russian sense, not the modern Western sense.)
