I haven’t looked too much into this, but I’m thinking of a system closer to a bouncer that verifies users at the door, but allows them to be anonymous individuals once inside.
Maybe a service that could verify a user at the browser level and provide a token akin to kagi’s search token

Tracking, and the ability to house that data opening the company housing it up to breaches that leak that data.
Yep, exactly. I show my id to a bartender and they’re not permanently saving a copy of it and distributing it to anyone who will pay them for it.
