I wouldn’t call them “massive fines” since, as per the article, they can be of up to $32M, which, for a company that makes billions, are merely operating costs.
I agree, tho, seems too short for a notice requiring something so big.
Probably the easiest/cheapest way is to just use an existing identity provider and require all users to sign up through there. Wonder how that will affect the userbase…
I for one welcome our future aussie comrades. Maybe aussie.zone can do a donation drive for more hardware or smth?
We got government run id checking services already where it calls an api, I put my details in then the government tells the site the result, but not everyone has suitable id.
