Does this really ring true to you? Capital doesn’t adopt veganism, it co-opts it, because veganism is a threat to entrenched capital. The idea that they are friends is beyond absurd, it’s nearly offensive.

This is pure carnism; psychological self-manipulation to cope with the cognitive dissonance caused by being cruel and violent to vulnerable individuals while needing to see oneself as a good person. I imagine it feels convincing or at least comforting to someone who also does not wish to stop being cruel and violent.

Sorry, no I think it’s a reasonable article. At the very least I thought it was an interesting take as a non-vegan. My point was veganism is not a prequisite for an anarchist – this was written by one of the more profilic anarchist writers active today.
