I think he tries to couch it in some paleo nonsense, but the real reason is because he wants to show that he’s a “real man” not one of those weakling soy loving postmodernmarxist sensitive types. Any vegan will know the type of asshole who, when they find out you’re eating a meal without animal products, will laugh in your face and say “I’m going to go home and eat TWO steaks tonight” because they think they’re nullifying your veganism by doing that. Peterson is that guy, he’s just taken it to the extreme and lathered on some layers of pseudophilosophical terminology to try to make it sound intellectual.
