The talk she gives here puts a similar fire in my belly that listening to the speeches of Parenti did/do.

I mean this young human has consistently moved towards a better understanding of the world and genuinely puts her body on the line and decenters herself. I get that she has had some lib takes (Georgia), but I don’t think anyone can claim she isn’t genuine.

She reminds me so much of young me who was also ready to tear things apart for justice, I think this might be the neurospicyness too. My older self feels incredible comradery with her when she dares show visible outrage and disgust towards the systems of violence the West upholds. We are all Greta in these moments.

I’ve been looking into joining the flotillas. Not sure how hard it might be to get there, but definitely want to try. Or find some other way to contribute to this in a more concrete way.

“She never talks about that either.” The funny thing about your post is that you say “defended the DPRK” as if speaking is a material action. As if you can whisper material support onto the DPRK like casting a spell.

The Korean People’s Army defends the DPRK. No user on Hexbear has “defended the DPRK”. Saying that you agree with DPRK, literally means nothing, immaterial. I think the DPRK is pretty cool and that changes nothing.

Greta has been kidnapped by Israel twice for trying to break their illegal aid blockade on Gaza. That is a material action. Whatever Greta says about Gaza is only secondary to the things that she has tried to do for Gaza.
