The next hour, the company came back with: “$180k, a different role, whatever you want.”
But money wasn’t the issue.
What I saw in that first hour was a team paralyzed by fear.
Fear of getting fired.
Fear of saying the wrong thing.
Fear of making a mistake.
I don’t care if it’s $140k or $1.4m.
I would rather die than live in fear.
I must not fear the offer. The company came back within the hour: “$180k, a different role, whatever you want.”
Fear of getting fired is the mind-killer.
Fear of saying the wrong thing is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
Fear of making a mistake corrodes every decision.
I will face that $180k offer.
I will permit it to pass over me and through me.
And when it has gone past, I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
Where fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.
