But, to the question: often it’s both + all the dirt and crap that gets in there.
It’s not really a problem though until you need to change your battery or have to give it a jump start :)
Changing a battery is a hassle, but thankfully there are how to videos. And you’re right it saves a lot of money. Newer cars, like phones would be intimidating to work on.
I’m trying to do research into a solar battery system, but that’s even more of a project.
