Man they just can’t stop fucking up the monetization on the Hitman series, huh. IIRC you can’t even buy the versions of Hitman 1 and 2 that I own on PC anymore.
The new hitman trilogy is actually pretty great all that shit aside, the thing that pisses me off the most is something that sounds very minor but totally stands out to me every time I try to play: The lack of blood.
In blood money you had bullet wound decals on entry and exit wounds and if you shot someone near a wall it would splatter against the wall and actually drip down (basically just a scripted stretching of the detail but the effect was great). The new ones feel so sterile by comparison.
Not defending it, but that’s probably about what it cost buying each component of it new at release. It’s old, but not surprising if you add in the Apple tax

The $70 price for the full game actually represents a savings over buying the 25 levels outright for $3 each–purchased that way, you’d pay more (via Kotaku).

This is a port of the “World of Assassination” (formerly Hitman 2016, Hitman 2 2018, Hitman 3 2021), right? I feel like I probably spent $130ish on it (spread over 5+ years though lol)
It’s worth noting that the Apple tax on iOS is exactly the same as the Valve tax on Steam: 30%
It’s a hell of a fee for processing a credit card payment plus a bit of file storage. No wonder neither company feels the need to actually make their own games.
I can’t figure out which Hitman thing I am supposed to buy. I do really enjoy these games, but even trying to access them sucks. Also, they take up huge amounts of disk space

But anyway. Get the old games, they are in a bundle. I like it. I’ve been playing the original first game. Its jank but fun. I also wanna try absolution. These games are not huge.

OK this is pretty impressive from a technical standpoint. Hitman would probably be a nice game to play on the go since a lot of the game is bite sized stealth sections + a roguelike mode.
But yeah fuck hitman’s pricing model always pirate it.
Modern smartphones are very impressive with pc games, gamehub/winlator on a snapdragon 8 elite can run a lot from what I’ve seen.
