This is how a Russian train burned today in Zaporizhzhia🔥
Unknown good people from the Defense Forces stopped the fuel train, and the Ronins from the 65th OMBR finished the job – they set the tanks on fire with your drones💥
It looked simply magnificent!
The train was hit by FPV drones because we supply the Cossacks with specialized equipment designed for longer distances.
And we will provide them with even more drones. Just need your donation!

Ukrainian forces attacked a fuel train in the Zaporizhzhia region with missiles and drones. Four Russian soldiers were killed, and 14 fuel tank cars derailed.
ASTRA obtained details of the attack on the train on August 19.
In the morning, a train traveling from occupied Volnovakha to Dzhankoi hit a mine near Stulnevo station in the Chernihiv district. The driver tried to make an emergency stop, but a UAV struck the rear of the train.
According to ASTRA’s sources in emergency services, 14 tank cars derailed and overturned, with two catching fire.
Two firefighting trains were dispatched, but Ukrainian forces struck the area again with two HIMARS missiles and drones.
At 13:00, Ukrainian forces hit the fire site once more. Four Russian soldiers guarding the train were killed, and 11 others were injured. At the moment of the strike, they were about 300 meters from the burning tank cars.
The railway tracks were also damaged.
In total, the train was carrying 16 tank cars of gasoline and 4 of diesel. It also included a platform equipped with an electronic warfare system.
Earlier, Ukrainian channels published photos and videos of the attack and its aftermath.
Today, the Russian-installed “governor” of Zaporizhzhia, Balitsky, admitted that fuel shortages are partly due to logistical problems, as fuel trains remain under threat of Ukrainian strikes.
If fragmentation bombs were detonated next to the tank cars they’d pierce the tanks and make every task explode - or isn’t it that easy?
Yeah, I know I’m an armchair general, and therefore thankful for every insight from the pros. Slava ukraini!
Certainly punching a hole in each one and lighting it would delete all the fuel, as we see in the video. They wouldn’t generally explode however, as there isn’t a good way to get a solid fuel/air mixture inside the fuel tanks.
Steel fuel tank walls can be 11mm thick or more. That’s thick enough to deflect lots of smaller sharpnel.
A direct hit with a shaped charge is the best way to guarantee its destruction.
Wow, that’s very thick, that’s more like shaped steel beams. Thanks for the answer!
