Hey all. Not one to comment here but I don’t know of any other sub to begin asking about this.

On the 17th Dec 2024, I woke up in bed at about 3am to an overwhelming, all encompassing feeling of what felt like raw electricity or very, very, intense pins and needles all over my entire body. I believe it was this feeling that woke me up. Startled would be an understatement, I couldn’t move, like I had just been struck with lightning. To be fair, it didn’t hurt, just scared the absolute crap out of me. For the first 10 seconds, I was very scared. Then, as if out of nowhere, my internal monologue, heard crystal clear, says, “don’t worry, it’ll pass, just stay still”. Sure enough, another 10 seconds later, it immediately stopped. It didn’t fade away slowly. It was level 10 intensity the whole time and then, nothing. Then, bam, instantly asleep. I woke up in the morning and didn’t even remember it happening until about mid day when the memory of it came back in a random flash, so clear that it felt like it had just happened. It hasn’t happened again and I’ve been thinking about this experience frequently ever since.

I’ve been down a massive google rabbit hole trying to find someone who has experienced the exact same thing but have found nothing. Medically speaking, it could have been any number of disorders but I, a healthy and active mid 30s guy, have never had any of the disorders or symptoms of any of the things that showed up in my research. Nor does my family have any history of these disorders.

I assume my post will get downvoted into it oblivion and I feel stupid for even posting about this. But if anyone has any insight or knows of a more appropriate sub to ask, I’m absolutely all ears.
