“After the completion of the film, something came to light that was relevant to the film. The National Geographic Society took the appropriate steps to look into this matter responsibly. Following this review, we assessed the findings, which led to our decision to no longer air the film.”

It’s time to play the game, was it pulled to suppress LGBTQ voices? Or was it pulled to suppress climate change awareness?
Anyway, this is why
is always justified.
Problem is to my knowledge you can’t even pirate the movie. It’s only been going out in film festivals and screening circles, it’s never been aired on TV. But they pull the movie out from the remaining of climbing and climate science festival circles. The only way to get the movie is if you have insider connections. Maybe I should post this on /r/lostmedia
Looks like it was available on Banff’s site.
It’s “expired” now, but it seems like anyone who watched it there before should still be able to access it.
So there’s a possibility that someone could download and reupload it. We’d just have to find someone who had previously gotten access.
Part of me wonders if it’s a lot stupider: did they force a (straight) romantic subplot in for story reasons?
Can’t wait for libs to explain why this is China’s fault somehow
China supports Russia, Russia got Trump elected, bam.
The route I usually see is “Western media companies only censor LGBT themes because China hates gay people and the companies cave to the demands of the Chinese market to make more money”
“What would the LOWEST COMMON DENOMINATOR think?!” - A media company who’s target audience is NOT the lowest common denominator
Back in my day, outcasts mutually despised their normie overlords and didn’t kowtow to their whims.
All I can think is damn walking in the cold like that with a metal piercing must suck
