16 in the UK and you can enlist through cadet programmes with parental consent earlier than that. Haven’t checked it a few years since some new conflicts have kicked off, but if it’s the same Britain has the single highest percentage of its army made up by child soldiers of anywhere in the ‘Western world’ and one of the highest anywhere.

You can actually join up when you’re 17. And if that’s not early enough JROTC starts in middle school I think.

Yeah there are some programs that allow you to sign up at 14/15. I don’t know of anything that’s specifically for middle school (ages 11 through 14). After school military programs are available at most high schools and allow freshmen (who are either 14 or 15 years old).
To be fair that is a very American problem. Not saying other societies are enlightened but at least they got some of that right.
I’m sure these two things are completely coincidental, and one definitely isn’t designed to push kids towards the other.
