Orange County wants to stop holding any immigration detainees in its jail with no criminal charges, and also voted down a proposal that would have opened the door to corrections staff transporting ICE inmates to federal detention centers.

    Hmm. “Transportation” was a judicial euphemism for slavery in the 19th C. A sentence of “Transportation” was the court selling a convict as a slave.
