Unusually aggressive lone star ticks, common in the south-east, are spreading to areas previously too cold for them

before vegans get excited they can still generally eat chicken. for some reason they all want boneless chicken thighs (i work at a place that sells food). we can tell when it’s a “tick people” order

      Well, well shit.

Then again vegans know, that only not eating meat does a vegan make…

Hell of a layup for some sort of presumably christian group to claim this is god sending a plague on account of the crimes we do to animals but i’m sure they’ll all just squander this

Meh more ticks here as well, the mosquitoes that transmit dengue fever are also here now. I love climate change 😀

So who is going to breed these and seed them on cattle ranches?

They already do that by themselves. Long grass and cattle are perfect tick breeding ground

Why on ranches? The ticks affect people not cows. Surely it would be more effective to put them where the meat is consumed rather than produced

Lyme disease is most prevalent in the United States and Europe.

I don’t see the point in trivializing a serious, potentially life-threatening allergy just because another tick-borne disease (also prevalent in the same country) is worse. Plenty of excellent reasons to complain about the US and its citizens, but this post is pointless and petty.

It isn’t an allergy to all meat though… the meat from primates are safe for people with Alpha-gal Syndrome. Time to invest in monkey farms.

Maybe a meat cessation drug can be derived from them. A meat Zyban.
