I finally received the inverter I ordered a while ago, and have been using it for a couple if weeks so far. I’ve been looking for a decent one for ages, as all the other high-output ones I tried or read about so far have been sub-optimal.

I wrote a review about it. Feel free to ask any questions!

That was stupid: yeah, here’s the Review link: http://gogreenit.net/index.php?page=morningstar-suresine sorry!

Yes, I first found out about MorningStar when I was trying to find a charge controller that had a proper network port and didn’t need a stupid app to configure it. I bought one and I really liked it, so I have 4 of the now.

I’ve spent a couple of years trying to find a decent inverter (eg. not cloudy and supports standard protocols), and it has been hard work. So far so good with this one, although their modbus support is buggy :(

The modbus issues are pretty common with MorningStar - try setting your request delay to 200ms and disable any function code 23 requests, fixed most of my comunication problems when I integrated mine with Home Assistant.

Thanks! I will check that out. It’s a shame, as their hardware is otherwise pretty reliable. I expected better from them.

Over here, no experience with ModBus yet. One customer might want an application, but in my own house, they’re all air gapped and I program them with buttons. :)
