In my fictional country, my character banned Kiwi Farms, but someone said that it would mean she hated free speech.
She doesn’t want harassment to occur in her country: for her citizens to harass others or become victims/“lolcows”.
I know it’s my world, but I need some advice.
Free speech isn’t absolute even in the U.S. in both political and private spheres.
Stuff such as " obscenity, fraud, child pornography, speech integral to illegal conduct, speech that incites imminent lawless action, speech that violates intellectual property law, true threats, false statements of fact, and commercial speech such as advertising. " are all things that aren’t protected in the U.S.
Quite frankly people who whine the loaded about being free speech absolutists are the ones most likely to want to say heinous shit without consequences for their actions.
