Holy fucking shit it’s like talking to a brick wall. These people are seemingly incapable of understanding who “pirates” and why they “pirate”. I keep trying to explain that if I were to make a game, I wouldn’t give a damn if people pirate because I just want people to enjoy the game. If people can afford it, cool, share among your friends!
I swear to god these nerds can’t understand the corpo isn’t “losing revenue” when someone pirates. They either weren’t going to buy the game anyway or someone is just trying it out…

real idiots, if im pirating something i wasn’t going to buy it. piracy is more akin to sharing than stealing. and sharing is GOOD AND COOL, i learned that in kindergarten
If I’m pirating something that means there’s a chance (if its good) that it might become a piece of culture I identify with for the rest of my life. This is good for your brand. You can sell a CD once. You can sell a fan merch for the rest of their life. A CD is worthless compared to a plushie or a cool hat.
I’m old enough to remember when it was expected that you’d let other people copy your games, and nobody really thought anything of it.
