    May I introduce to you: Harlequin-Type Icthiosis

    This condition basically causes the skin to grow rapidly and form large thick plates that eventually slough off. It used to be fatal in infants, since it almost always resulted in severe infection. Now, it can be managed with strict, constant hydration and removal of the outer layer of the skin.
