I just bought some poster making supplies at my local Dollar Tree and the cashier asked if I was having a yard sale.

I said, “These are actually for protest signs.”

Cashier said, “What are you protesting?”

Me:,” oh, 👀 The President and everything that’s going on. There was a big protest downtown last Saturday and several thousand people showed up.”

Cashier: “ 😳. That’s a lot of people.”

Me: “There’s one next weekend, too.” I take out my phone. “Let me show you the sign I made last night with this same stuff.”

Cashier: “Arrest …and Impeach now. This turned out really good.”

Me: “Thanks.” <Awkward pause> “If anything comes of it, great. If not, at least I know I tried. 🤷🏻‍♀️ I’m actually buying this stuff so my mom can make a sign for next weekend.”

Last thing cashier said to me: “Keep doing what you’re doing.”

Don’t know if this will have any impact, but this was my first time engaging with a complete stranger about what’s going on and it was positive. Keep pushing! See ya on 4/19!

I’m just now realizing the 19th is the day before Easter and orthodox Easter (happy belated Passover too!) - I can’t decide if that’s going to help, hurt, or nada.
