Rebecca Burke was trying to cross from the US into Canada when a visa mix-up saw her handcuffed and taken to a detention facility in the States - where she has now been held for 14 days.
So an au pair job and she tried to get in on a tourist visa
Then when she was sent back that tripped immigration as she had left the country and been returned.
My sympathy for her in her current predicament is not great
I have questions on this: The family she was going to stay with, did this include any services such as looking after kids?
Would leaving the US on a tourist visa and attempting to reenter be grounds for breaching the visa?
I’ve read it was something to do with a company called Workaway that apparently have a piss poor track record
