From a letter obtained by the AP:
“We swore to serve the American people. However, it has become clear that we can no longer honor those commitments. We will NOT use our skills as technologists to compromise core government systems, jeopardize Americans’ sensitive data, or dismantle critical public services. We will not lend our expertise to carry out or legitimize DOGE’s actions.”
GOOD FOR THEM!!
let’s hope

(meqq3b1)This is a byproduct of our resistance. Call it a win and support these people.

(meqrk7c)This is the dilemma. Do you remain in hopes of slowing the destruction or disavow and walk away?
I think in the short term, “they” are going to get what they want. If they are ever removed, the cost of cleaning up this mess is going to be beyond anything we’ve seen before.
The ripple effects will last for decades.
Data that’s been stolen isn’t going to be resecured. Information that was taken is already for sale or in some private database (probably more than one) and it’s not going to be deleted just because order is restored.
Data that’s been corrupted? We may never know what was lost or replaced with a false narrative.

(meqoqis)I agree to an extent. We do need good people on the inside but this also sends a strong message to Trump and Musk that people with the skills and expertise aren’t willing to do their dirty work. I applaud them for standing up and sending that message. Now, let’s hope they can’t find loyalists with the skill-set needed to infiltrate these systems.
As a bonus message, it might help wake Americans up to just how unethical and illegal the things they are doing is.

(meqnikf)Are they actual Doge employees or government workers that refuse to work with Doge staff?

(meqqjrh)Good thing is loyalists, by definition, aren’t the most competent.

(meqy9l0)They want the good people to quit though…they want to install loyalists…

(meqxh7u)Yes. Per u/lawn_question_guy “These are the employees DOGE inherited with its hostile takeover of the US Digital Service.”

(meqszy0)We need good people to subtly sabotage everything they do so that we can run out the clock.
