I prefer chains for the endgame. I use them to pull scorpions into pits. And mapping scrolls for the last few levels make the talisman obsolete.

talismans are great to see enemies that you can’t normally see, not to step on traps or see what lies beyond the third crystal key choice rooms

never really used the talisman, chains are great but my fav is the rose - quite usefull with nice armor and weapon
