There is no single cause of political violence in democracies. But one critical source is often overlooked: electoral system design.

These days, the prospect of political violence feels like it’s being billed as a feature, not a bug, to a large part of the electorate.

We don’t have a 2nd amendment to mince words.

Yeah…if we are invaded by tRump brown shirts…we can band together. Look, I am not a gun guy. I have a handgun because I was young once and it happened, it’s been loaded twice. A shotgun because quail are delicious and a 30-06 because targets at range were cool before I had kids. Not war weapons or comparable to a lot of my local gun fetishists neighbors. If the Right wants to talk about 2nd amendment and protecting themselves from the government…all I am saying is that it works both ways.

The only reason the 2nd amendment doesnt says “The federal government shall maintain a well equipped standing army” is because the war of 1812 hadn’t happened yet.

Too many people in the nazi cult need to die or change their behavior in ways they have pinned their entire identity on never doing in order to decrease that risk. Even if we were somehow down with killing to solve the problem, the number’s just too big.

In addition to all the other reasons why maybe don’t kill people.

This is where cops and the justice department would step in, so…could just be fucked.

Voting for Harris specifically is looking pretty good, isn’t it?
