Anyone installed calyxOS on a Motorola G32? I have a 8/256GB version locally available for $150 NiB. SD680 isn’t the most awesomest of SoC and the screen is IPS, but I’d swallow that if it works without issues. Thanks!

I’ve just been looking at the same phone and thinking about buying it to put CalyxOS on it.

I’d say think about it for a second.

I have been using Calyx on G32 for over a year now and it’s awesome. Never had any issues. Works flawlessly.

But G32 has almost reached end of life support from Moto I believe. It’s a big question if Moto will release new kernel updates for this phone.

If Moto doesn’t then Calyx won’t either.

But that doesn’t stop me from using it since I already have it haha.

Done. Flashed it on my new device last night from a Linux Mint machine and everything went super smoothly - quite surprising considering I’d had a few drinks and wasn’t quite firing on all cylinders. Calyx is a sweet OS. I was going to leave the install until I was more sober but just switching on my new phone with the default Google Android booting up boiled my piss so much I had to get the offending item removed as quickly as possible. To clarify, my last phone was still running Google but I’d tweaked it so much over the years that I’d forgotten how intrusive it used to be. I’d go as far as to say that flashing the device with CalyxOS was considerably quicker than just simply booting up the phone for the first time. Really straightforward, no issues, just followed the instructions exactly. One last thing to do to eradicate Google from my life entirely: delete my Gmail account.

4 GB at £95. Not a scratch on it. Like I assumed, somebody’s unwanted purchase that was returned with the packaging opened.

I have to say that I like some of the features on Calyx. It’s like a breath of fresh air in comparison to stock Google Android.

Ordered one up. Should be delivered in the next day or so. Managed to get a refurbished (excellent condition) one for a good bit cheaper - probably just someone’s unwanted buy with the package opened. It’ll be a nice project to tinker with. My current Moto E7 phone is dying slowly but still functional. Degoogled it as much as possible without actually getting rid of the original OS, but now it’s time to go all in. Will post the results here.
