Two years ago, we spoke to Marc Briggs — a car owner frustrated he could not get a Utah specialty plate with a retro black look for his pickup truck.

I think they look pretty cool. What do you guys think?

    Now, those plates look almost like stupid state advertising or pandering, and the basic plates (esp. white on black, black on white, or California’s yellow on black) look retro and badass. Material Design and all that.

    That is such a great analogy.
