I don’t know. One time I joined a game, and I had plenty of reasons to join the party, but the DM started RPing a really rude character, and it’s like his method of getting me to join the party was to be a huge asshole to me? I just didn’t pick up on it, and when I finally gave my character an ass-pull reason to join (that I could do some good if I tagged along) the DM was like “jeez, finally” and it sucked.
Like, if I’m playing a level 1 wizard, and the DM tells me I’m gonna die if I enter the conflict, it’s not really my backstory’s fault that I don’t jump into the fray. Sometimes you’re dealing with an inexperienced DM that expects you to metagame your way into the party. I genuinely thought he was on the verge of giving me the opportunity to convince the party to run away from the dragon, not stay and fight it.
That’s not what I meant, and it isn’t entirely accurate anyway. Her power absorbs the energy of the people she touches, it doesn’t just kill them.
I don’t believe Rogue has ever killed anyone with her touch by accident. The most obvious counterpoint would be Carol Danvers, but that situation had as much to do with Ms. Marvel’s powers as it did Rogue’s. Maybe you’re confusing her with another character that has an instant death poke, but in most universes, Rogue’s powers aren’t inherently more dangerous than the average mutant’s, providing she accepts them as part of herself.
She was traumatized by nearly killing someone when her X-Gene first activated, and she refused to gain any sort of mastery over her powers for a long time because of that. Just like other mutants, Rogue’s abilities are core to her identity, and a huge part of her journey was acknowledging that fact and learning to control them. If she had followed your sentiments, she probably wouldn’t have made that journey.
But she doesn’t kill the people she touches, usually
I have a friend who passes out every time he gets his blood drawn. He’s like a deflating balloon.
He’s diabetic and has to get blood work done every so often, and he always warns the person taking his blood that he’s going to pass out for a second, and it’s no big deal, but they always act surprised and panic when it happens.
The cops had a shoot out with my neighbor in the apartment next to mine. I wasn’t positive it was gunfire, and I walked into my living room to get a better assessment. I was about a foot away from whizzing bullets, but I still wasn’t 100% sure lol. I decided to not risk it and take cover on the floor of my bathroom, until about 20 minutes later when the cops busted my door down and kicked me out of my apartment for 2 days. When I came back, I had 17 bullet holes in my wall (all from the cops) and my fridge and cabinets were all shot to hell. I definitely almost died that day
Are they actually imitating you, or are they just watching TV at normal TV-watching hours?
I think the Documentary Now! episode, “Juan Likes Rice and Chicken” is better than Jiro Dreams of Sushi
Also Matt’s mentor is called Stick, and the turtles have Splinter
Would you tell someone that you’d bang them or date them if you didn’t like them?
Is that not a thing people do?
Tastes like sugary water.
You know what works really well for lip/mouth burn?
Soap. Seriously, try it if you ever need a nuclear option.
Fair enough. I appreciate your perspective
I kind of like the ad hoc presentation style of the video. The message that it’s trying to deliver is pretty incoherent, though. I just don’t feel like I learned anything beyond one person’s perspective from it
Sounds like a slice of fried gold
I just noticed that he rips up and drops the paper that he gets handed
My favorite part of sex is taking my average sized penis all the way out and putting it back in approximately 300 times
I’ve never heard people use the terms interchangeably. There are homeless people, crackheads, and homeless crackheads.
Absolutely. Years of dedicated research have been spent maximizing the attention economy
To be fair, I think you hit the nail on the head regarding what works and what doesn’t. I guess it’s possible for every situation to have some edge cases, though
