Decided to test the Warframe waters. Only about 2 hours in, it seems pretty good so far. I’m still trying to see how much grind there really is once the intro is over.

Dial up internet used phone lines. The same phone lines your calls came in on. Anytime someone called or someone tried to call out, you were very likely disconnected and had to reconnect. Early on, there were no download managers that would pause and reconnect you to finish a download if interrupted.

I’m assuming you live in the states, but do not move without having a job lined up. You are asking for disaster in this current job market. Besides that, virtually all housing will require a steady, provable income just to get into a place. The only alternative would be to find someone looking for a roommate off the books (your name not on a lease), like a spare bedroom or couch surf.

Once you have a job and housing, the rest of what you mentioned is fairly easy, although I don’t know the term HCOL.

I’m deep in Microsoft (used to work there). I just kicked Office off my system and installed LibreOffice.

Next step is OneDrive, but it’s going to be hard to walk away from due to the amount of storage I have grandfathered in for free.

You can enjoy it for what it is, just don’t support it with money/clicks. Buy books or merch 2nd hand, avoid web traffic to their official portals, sail the high seas for content etc…
