St Louis is a bit skewed since the city proper is so small
But wouldn’t the “per 100,000 people” scale even out the discrepancy?
STL proper accounts for only 300k of the metro’s population of nearly 3 million and contains the majority of homicides. Most metros aren’t divided that way
