Park officials said the man, a 25-year-old from Providence, Rhode Island, fell and was pulled underwater at West Creek Falls.

    This is West Creek Falls pictured during normal times, the water flowing there now is a lot more and enough to drown a 24 year old man. Be careful out there.

    Are there more outdoors/hiking fatalities this year, or am I just hearing more about them? There seem to be a lot lately.

      There are a lot every year, though more often it is rock climbing accidents.
