What are some covers of classics that you think are worthy of the original? Like they update the style of the original instead of being a straight cover, but don’t deviate from the spirit of the OG artist?
One of my favorites is Conro’s cover of September
Keeps the spirit and feel of Earth Wind and Fire’s original while updating it a bit to have a more modern electronic beat, without taking any crazy liberties.

Alien Ant Farm’s Smooth Criminal, and Johnny Cash’s Hurt cover are my two favorites that I enjoy more than the original.
