Because games are oftem made by somewhat passionate developers and managed/distributed by… someone else
I hate to say it but its the sole reason I keep giving Nintendo a pass.
When I buy my daughter a AAA Nintendo title its a FULL GAME and its damn well polished. I get exactly what I paid (too much) for.
In most cases, yes.
But then you get a Mario Strikers Battle League, or a Pokemon Scarlet/Violet once in a while.
You can do this with any product - industry pair and go “such a strange dichotomy, they sell these products that make me happy but it’s as if it’s all about making money in the end”. It’s called capitalism.
That’s intellectually lazy, companies quite simply aren’t equally capitalistic (sociopathic)
Me when I’m in a bootlicking competition and my opponents are Nintendo fanboys… (They love corpo boot when it sells them colourful characters from their childhoods)
They’ll suck the life out of anything until it turns to dust. And I’m talking about the blonde on the left named Samus.
Nothing strange about this.
I see no incoherence, the value their work and their work is good.
Their games are good. Their prices, lawsuits, exclusives, and hardware are all shit.
Nintendo has some bad decisions, but its mostly none of those.
