In other news, a Mafia gunman who shot up a Brooklyn soup kitchen, killing 13, says he’s not sorry, because it had ties to the Catholic Church, “which is not really an organisation you can say is innocent.”

They thrive on it, if people cared they might not realize just how extreme Israeli society has gotten. They get more from people giving them the benefit of a doubt. Ten times worse than a Trump regime, in Internet statistics.

Not sanctioned by Canada either. Simply “unacceptable” according to Anand, but no further push back.

It makes no sense his do we explain it. Is it really cause America well be pissed? Why do they have so much power in America why do politicians care so much in America.

I’m sorry, I don’t prescribe to conspiracy theories and blanket statements.

It would be ignorant to not notice the imperialist aspects of western hegemons supporting an ethnostate that destabilizes the middle east, the feedback loop of that creating support and lobby groups in the imperial states, the amount of money involved in the lobby groups, the military industrial complex and oil oligarchs that are elbows deep in it, the growing christo-fascist ideology in the US, or the affinity amongst colonial mindsets.

And that’s just power dynamics. There’s also the social aspect and influences on different generations where the older generation empathizes with victims of WW2 while younger generations are far more removed and empathize with current victims; as well as the proliferation of information directly to the viewer instead of distilled through oligarchic owned media outlets - which is why there is a growing number of anti-Zionist Jewish groups breaking away from Israeli founding myths.

The idea that some extremely rich Jews support a Fascist hyper-supremacist regime which says they’re superior people because of their ethnicity isn’t at all outrageous.

That doesn’t mean it’s because they’re Jews - extremely rich people supporting Fascist hyper-supremacist regimes of their ethnicity is pretty common in History, quite independently of the ethnicity of said extremely rich people.

Also, some extremely rich American Jews have quite openly supported the state of Israel well after it was clear they were a Genocidal state (which was clear since all the way back during the Nakba in 1947) and which by it’s very constitution is very clearly and unabashedly supremacist: it is an undisputed fact that extremely rich Jews support and supported the Genocidal state of Israel in the full knowledge it’s Genocidal and supremacist.

Let’s not fall into the Discriminatory practice of trying to suppress valid criticism of extremely rich people who support violent ethnic supremacists when those people happen to belong to a very specific ethnicity but not when they belong to other ethnicities - treating people differently depending on their ethnicity is the very definition of Racial Discrimination (i.e. Racism), even when it’s done using a form many Americans have been trained to think is “positive”.

While I agree with you on all of your points, your below point doesn’t fit in this particular context

Let’s not fall into the Discriminatory practice of trying to suppress valid criticism

Because they literally reference the conspiracy very openly

                Fair point.

The other poster wording it like that does indeed stink of somebody coming at it from a “blame the Race” rather than “blame the Rich” point of view.

No I known its the rich people always has been but we are to stupid to realize. Don’t known if we as a people well ever figure it out or just keep fighting for the scraps. But lets not pretend that the none wealthy Israelis are innocent, it is not the wealthy who are the settlers. Some no idea how much of Israelis believe they are the chosen people which is funny how America and them can get along so well both beliving they are chosen by god.

I mean if you think ABC gave too much of a platform to the terrorists (which provide no evidence to their claim), why didn’t you link to a news source that’s more objective than ABC?

This is a huge story. It’s surely been covered by more than one media outlet. Some news sources are probably more blunt in their coverage in saying that the Israelis committed a war crime by murdering volunteers, claiming unsubstantiated bullshit without providing any evidence

I meant that the Israeli gave the typical talking points.

And I shared the ABC article because that’s what’s referenced in the post.

I am not quick-snail, but I presume they mean a link to original ABC source instead of a Twitter screenshot.

It does make me uncomfortable to see Twitter cited so much across lemmy. And doing so would be good information hygiene, anyway.

That’s what I assumed too and specifically provided the ABC source. Which is why I’m confused.

It’s still not in the OP though. Most viewers on Lemmy are just going to see the tweet.

It’s not a huge deal to me since it links an actual journalist (Evan Dyer), but… it’s still bad information hygiene. I think linking the original source should be the gold standard for Lemmy. We can do better at sourcing than pasting screenshots.

I see what you mean. But the ABC article doesn’t mention Flickinger, so it wouldn’t have been relevant to the Canada community as is. The CBC reporter tweet about a Canadian death makes it relevant.

Edit: also going back to the original comment, I think they’re asking why did I share the ABC article if I said it was full of Israeli talking points. And my answer would be that it’s the ABC interview/article that the CBC reporter mentions.
