The site load pretty fast, way way faster than YT.
I like this new Chinese warfare. Releasing free AI models to undermine US firms, not letting US buy their rare earth minerals opening up a YouTube competitor.
These are all hurting the people wo are leeching the money out of the middle class, and making laws to keep 'em poor and stupid.
I’m not looking forward the upcoming economic crash, and the whole climate change thing happening… But we all had it coming.I wouldn’t give a shit about the economic crash if my livelihood weren’t dependent on the economy. Shit, even if I just had to adjust to a new career — I wouldn’t mind. The problem is that I have no idea what to expect. Will there be any jobs? How am I supposed to feed my family? I don’t live in an area that allows a family to be self sustaining. It’s hot, dry, little wildlife, … we’d probably be dead without an AC. so what the fuck do we do?
Form community and work to assist that community. Thinking every individual has to provide for themselves and their family is a libertarian fantasy that depends on having money to spend at a nonexistent store on nonexistent bags of seed to grow with well water you excavated by hand that you will defend with a gun you load with nonexistent ammunition bought at that same nonexistent store with no money just so you can shoot your hungry neighbor who wants food.
If landlords demand payment when no one has a job, oust the landlords and protect your neighbors who are being threatened with eviction. If police try to protect the landlord’s position, oust the police and protect your neighbors who are being violently targeted.
If people in your community are hungry, use existing farmland and existing logistics to provide enough for everyone. Sure, these workers won’t be paid if there’s no money to pay with, but if the choice is between “work hard and help my community from starving” and “sit on my ass as everyone starves”, it seems clear what logistics workers and farmers would choose. And your goal should be to assist them or assist some other facet of maintaining your community.
Making their own DRAM, GPUs and CPUs. Making their own EUV lithography machines. Leading the world in solar panel manufacture and deployment. Competing with the western EV market, in the west. Owning a part of just about every supply chain in manufacturing of just about every product.
It’s easy to think that this is a deliberate strategy to undermine the US and the western hemisphere and position themselves to be the next world superpower, but it could also be explained just by the slow and continual collapse of capitalism causing everyone else to fall behind.
Honestly I am just applauding every time a new contender shows up.
Eu is trying to step away from US monopoly products. And trying to do stuff on their own.
China taking over the best supercomputer. And while capitalism is one of the worst thing invented on the planet. I’m hesitant to say China’s system is the way to go.
The Eastern Block wasn’t happy with the Mother Russia - if the system is forced without any smarts behind it - it will just sour every survivor’s thinking.
Not that Ice is any better than Gestapo or KGB. It is sad to see patterns repeating themselves.
Yes I wouldn’t want anyone to think that my comment is praising their authoritarianism, surveillance panopticon, cultural genocide of ethnic minorities, extra-national police stations, hacking of critical infrastructure etc.
Just that when you’re competing against late stage capitalism, the bar for success is set very low.
Please research further. I believe your heart is in the right place, but you sound like many of us before we started actually looking for sources and educating ourselves to see past propaganda. Western media (and NGOs, like Amnesty) have been caught lying so many times in just the last few decades to justify destroying countries and raping their peoples that we can’t just take their word for it, especially when talking about the countries that can actual beat them.
Obviously they do have surveillance, all states that can afford to, do, but the cultural genocide claim is false (on youtube, you can find random tourists in Xinjiang passing by people speaking Uyghur, for instance, no need to take my word for it when the evidence is literally there, documented by random liberals online; you can also find stats on how many mosques they have, the legal status of Uyghur and Tibetan, the differences in how one child policy was applied for ethnic minorities, stats on population growth, etc). The extra-national police thing is a conspiracy theory, too. Hacking does happen, in both directions.
Generally, I trust that you’re a smart person who can look things up, try to get sources on different things, and always understand the bias of every speaker. You know my bias is very pro-China, and you know that western media is very anti-China, and you’re free to be anti-China as much as you’d like, but it’s best if you do it with actual sources so we can have good faith discussions on both sides rather than resort to repeating disproven conspiracy theories. We don’t need to repeat claims from QAnon to point to very real problems in the US. If hypothetically the BBC decided to platform anti-US conspiracies (which they won’t, because they’re aligned) that wouldn’t make it any more legitimate, it just shows a bias, in this hypothetical case against the US. The sooner we move past the propaganda, the sooner we can have more honest discussions about China and anything else, even if we might not necessarily agree (ex: I understand many anarchists don’t like China, that’s fine with me as long as they don’t hate China more than other states based on propaganda, but rather reflecting a consistent position against states in general, even if it’s one I disagree with).
Lastly, my reason to like China is because they’re generally a positive force in the international stage, they help many countries actually be able to develop, not out of goodness or something, but because it’s good for them as well as for our countries, and that’s good enough for me. The sooner we have a multilateral world where countries like my own can develop and heal, the better.
They have been taking the signs in Uyghur down and putting them up in Chinese in Xinjiang. They also enforce Mandarin in schools.
No they haven’t, and yes, most countries have an official language.
Please tell me more about the country I live in
https://uyghurtimes.com/chinas-ethnic-unity-law-removal-of-uyghur-script/
Official language doesn’t mean you should punish pupils for merely speaking another language. I’m not talking about language of instruction
Honestly at this point I don’t know what is propaganda and what isn’t.
A lot of it is
YouTube could use some competition. Creators who publish to multiple platforms could also use an alternative, especially if the alternative doesn’t censor pro-Palestine and leftist material as YouTube does.
I’ve just found the following comment in a video:
我一直都支持以色列,这不是一句“虽远必诛、打嘿除恶”这么简单,最重要的是我觉得犹太民族十分优秀,生于忧患几千年,磨练民族风骨,他们早已超越德日民族了。 祝福以色列越来越强大,以色列人民越来越幸福。 希望以后的后人在翻看旧网页的时候,能发现我的回复,证明当时还有正常思维的人。 最后祝福在以色列的众多同胞能幸福平安。
I have always supported Israel. This isn’t as simple as slogans like ‘Though far away, we will bring justice to you’ or ‘strike down evil.’ Most importantly, I think the Jewish people are truly outstanding. Having been forged in hardship for thousands of years, they have honed their national character. In my view, they have already surpassed the German and Japanese nations. I wish Israel ever greater strength and its people ever greater happiness. I hope that in the future, when later generations browse through old web pages, they will find my comment, proving that there were still people with sound minds back then. Finally, I wish all our compatriots in Israel safety and happiness.
Hm, I dunno. Maybe his irony is escaping me.
Lots of people with lots of opinions. I’m talking about the platform and whether the platform would shadowban, demonetize and so on anti-zionist material or not.
They’re gonna TikTok it and sell off their Western branch to top Zionist Larry Ellison if it ever takes off.
Would only affect the US and still serve as a YouTube alternative elsewhere. I’d like a Feduverse alternative better but video hosting is expensive, plus any replacement of YouTube must also come with the ability to get paid for people who do that full-time.
Yeah, we can’t just produce content and hope it will magically lead to the defeat of capitalism or some shit, but if this leads to better speech being allowed to be heard without losing your livelihood that’s already a big win
especially if the alternative doesn’t censor pro-Palestine and leftist material as YouTube does.
I really hope this is the case.
Shame the website isn’t multilingual
China in general seem intend on attacking/undermining every single stronghold of the shtty ‘Epstein’ Oligarchs - just like me… Go go China !!
You know, I’d love to say f-ck you “Googol”, but the ladder will be probably exactly / less caring about privacy.
Even if that’s true, at least BiliBili is just a video social media site. Unlike Alphabet, it doesn’t control half of the world’s internet services and the great majority of the mobile phone market.
