Smartphones filming all the time on class, oh fuck no
I have a sore throat right now…

In the time, it wasn’t necessarily the most fun. But in retrospect, I was filled with hope and hormones and didn’t have random aches and pains. My jobs were fulfilling (at the time and context) and I had no real problems.
Now I’m a grown up with jobs and bills and responsibilities and aches and pains. I can’t just lie in bed and stare at the ceiling listening to angst musics anymore.
I used to enjoy dropping my kids off at school because the route took me past the gym and PE field, reminding me that, whatever kinds of exercises I might do, I would never have to take PE again.
Around 15 years ago I graduated and literally every single day since has been an improvement.
I enjoyed my time there. Life after was much crueler to me.
I don’t know. I just tried to think about and appreciate not having a sore throat, but actively thinking about how my body feels in general as a baseline just made me realize that I’m not feeling that great ever.
I went to boarding school in upstate New York. I rather enjoyed it. especially the part where I could sneak off campus and take a train into the city to go clubbing on the weekends.
Sure, there was still a lot of the typical high school bullshit, but the dynamic is different when there are fewer than 200 students, and you live with all of them and your teachers.

Nah, there are people who peaked during high school. And are the reason the “high school is the best time of your life” lie exists.
It is really sad.
