Just under $300 million was tagged as coming from “private sources,” the newspaper reported Tuesday. Taxpayers remain on the hook for the rest—with $155 million coming through the Secret Service, another $149 million through the White House Military Office, and $3 million through the Executive Residence.
Smells like the biggest grift from a sitting politician ever to funnel money to his and his friends’ private interests.
Besides the fact that it shouldn’t happen in the first place, I take issue with the fact that it isn’t 100% tax-payer funded. Corporations should not be directly funding (bribing) government projects. Tax them.

The private sources never intended on paying up. American families will be forced to continue to “go without” in order to pay for something they never needed.
