    Why would they declare independence

They are already a globally recognized independent country

Because Trump finished high school before the Chinese Cultural Revolution, and has been called by one of his college professors the dumbest student be has ever taught.

Add in dementia and I really believe Trump has no idea what Taiwan is apart from a word he recognizes and, with preparation, can barely distinguish from Thailand.

Unfortunately not. More countries recognize Palestine than Taiwan, even though Taiwan more clearly is an actual country.

Sadly no. There are only 11 countries that have official relations with Taiwan. Almost all other countries either clearly think it’s a part of China, or have an ambiguous position towards it. Most western countries are in that last group.

          https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/International_recognition_of_Taiwan

          And as comparison:

          https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/International_recognition_of_Palestine

          https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/International_recognition_of_Israel

Shh you’ll ruin the entire neoliberal western narrative that has caused the populations of the US and Europe to constantly disparage the single most advanced form of government proven so far. If they cannot fear monger about China being evil bloodthristy imperialists wanting to take Taiwan or propagandize Taiwan as being brave independent freedom fighters then all the other hundreds of billions of dollars in propaganda through hundreds of outlets in more than two dozen countries including extensive terror campaigns, the wholesale creation of several cults, and the world’s most extensive propaganda NGO in world history would all be for nothing.

They really don’t understand they’re the bad guys and not China, and it’d break their little hearts to find out China got that big without doing all the evil shit they did.

You do realize that China literally considers Taiwan a province in rebellion right? Or did you think that the mainland actually was giving formal recognition to it’s independence this whole time.

The capitalists have no loyalists to any nation. They will betray and strip the US of all of its natural resources to sell to China if it meant more profit (as they’ve done to every other nation)

Because they’d release it, and then their power would be gone. It’s more powerful to keep this hidden at the very top.

The longer America sends kids to die for a pedophile, the better for America’s enemies.

Once the cat is out of the bag, America puts Trump up against the wall and finds it’s feet again…and that’s not good for the people who have copies of all the fucked up shit he did.
